Secure4Access (GUARDIAN) Secure4Access offers a set of programs designed to provide centralized account management, password synchronization, and access control for the most popular versions of UNIX. Secure4Access 's features include the following: A user-friendly menu program in both a Motif-based GUI (coupled with on-line help) and a character-based interface. A command line interface with script files to perform any menu program function, which can be run without operator intervention. Supports NIS and NIS+ environments Create an account one time on one host and specify which other hosts to create the account Control user password selection including change frequency, required character differences, force generation or specify format. Control access by access type, day, time, port, host, etc... Provide users with a custom password change mechanism, which will keep passwords in sync across multiple operating systems Log UNIX accesses, both successes and failures Automatically inactivate user accounts after multiple failed password entries Edit multiple accounts with a single command or mouse click Assign special management privileges to specified users: Password Manager Users may change other user's passwords and reactivate accounts without requiring the super user password. Security Manager Required to access the Administration Program. May be configured to run without requiring the super user password. Network Manager Required to propagate account changes across the network.
